About our Coach - Aarya Shipurkar

Pitch Perfect 2026 is lucky to utilise the services of professional cricket coach, Aarya Shipurkar:

​"I am an Accredited Level 2 Coach with four years of comprehensive coaching experience across diverse skill levels. My background includes two years specializing in Female Grade Cricket. I have successfully mentored athletes ranging from grassroots development to the representative level.


As a former Grade 1 and 2 bowling all-rounder, I bring a high-performance perspective to my coaching. I specialise in:

  • Technical Batting Development: Refining mechanics and match awareness.

  • Spin Bowling Mastery: Providing specialized tactical and technical instruction.


While my primary expertise lies in spin bowling, I possess a comprehensive understanding of Pace Bowling Mechanics. I am effective at refining technical delivery and implementing tactical frameworks to enhance fast-bowling performance.
 
Some of my highlights include a proven track record in transitioning players from foundational skills to competitive representative environments. I am dedicated to fostering growth and performance within female cricket."

Pitch Perfect is a dedicated girls' cricket academy in Sydney's Inner West. Launched in 2026 by the Leichhardt Wanderers Cricket Club & supported by Cricket NSW, the academy is designed especially for junior female cricketers who want to focus on developing their game and their cricket skills beyond that of junior club cricket.

About our Academy

  • Stage 1 to 3 girls: Junior female cricketers from stages 1 to 3 can join the academy (approx. 8 years and up). Girls are welcome from any junior club, not just Leichhardt Wanderers, or even if you're not part of a club at all.

  • No selection criteria: Whilst intended to stretch the girl's cricket development, girls of any skill level can join the academy - there is no selection criteria, no trials and no 'minimum' skill level.

  • Winter schedule: The academy program is scheduled for winter so as not to interfere with the summer cricket season. More details below.

  • Professional female coach: Pitch Perfect employs a professional female coach to run the program - read on below!

  • Cricket Central - Pitch Perfect is held at NSW Cricket's high performance centre at Sydney Olympic Park.

Dates & Times - 2026

Our 2026 academy program runs on Saturday afternoons through school term 2. (We've aimed to avoid clashes with both school sport and club soccer).

​

  • Dates: 2nd May 2026 to 20th June 2026 (every Saturday).

  • Time: 3:30pm to 5pm (90-min sessions).

Location

All academy sessions are held at Cricket NSW's state-of-the-art, high-performance cricket facilities at Cricket Central, Silverwater Road, Sydney Olympic Park.

 

Sessions will utilise the amazing indoor net facilities, plus the community oval outfield (next to the main oval).

Cost

Pitch Perfect 2026 costs $220 per player, which includes all eight 90-minute sessions.

​

It is strongly encouraged for all participants wear the LW cricket training kit (shorts & shirt) to all academy sessions. The kit is available to purchase during the registration process for $59 (for those players that do not already have one).
